Louis Boswell is the Chief Executive Officer of Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA). As CEO, his remit is to lead the industry through championing all broad based initiatives that result in a more vibrant and healthy video ecosystem. This includes being at the forefront of industry research, supporting evolving business models, understanding the role of technology, representing the industry in conversations with regulators and taking a leading role in eliminating piracy.

John Medeiros, Chief Policy Officer, Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA)

John Medeiros is the Chief Policy Officer of Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA) as well as Senior Government Relations Advisor to the Board. He leads the Association’s program of engagement with governments and the policy community inside and outside Asia. AVIA’s advocacy of members’ interests, and ongoing dialogue with a wide range of regulatory officials on behalf of the pay-TV industry are under his direction. He also coordinates the Association’s research, education, and intellectual property enforcement activities.

Roger Tong, CEO, AsiaSat

Roger joined AsiaSat in March 2008 and was appointed CEO on 16 April 2018. Prior to joining AsiaSat, he was employed by Telesat Canada where he worked as a technical consultant and was responsible for various commercial satellite programmes. He has also held senior management positions at COM DEV International, Allen Telecom Inc. and Mark IV Industries Ltd. Roger has served as a board member of AVIA since November 2018.

Agnes Rozario has been a core part of Astro’s growth and positioning as the top entertainment destination for Malaysians. She leads the company’s content team, which covers all vernaculars, regional and Hollywood content, sports and film businesses. Agnes was key in driving the success of Pay Per View and VOD services, which in 2018 had garneredover 50 million downloads and engagements. She also spearheads Asian originals via regional partnerships.

Jonathan Munro, Head of Newsgathering, BBC News

Jonathan Munro is the Head of BBC Newsgathering - the world's largest broadcast newsgathering operation with more than 60 international bureaux. He is in charge of the day-to-day activity and deployments of all journalists working to BBC network news based in the UK and abroad. His department provides live coverage and reports to all English language radio, television and multimedia platforms across BBC News. He also deputises for the Director of News and is regularly in overall charge of the BBC News division.

Shad Hashmi, SVP, Digital Services Global Distribution, BBC Studios

Shad Hashmi carries global responsibilities for the continued development, implementation and roll-out of digital propositions across BBC Studios’s Global Distribution division – which includes Asia, Central Europe & Middle East (CEMA), and Northern and Western Europe. Prior to BBC Studios, Shad worked at international media companies including CNBC and Encompass Digital Media delivering strategic digital and technology initiatives.

Diane Hamer, Head of Business & Legal Affairs Content and Brand Protection, BBC Studios

Diane is an Australian and UK qualified solicitor. Prior to becoming a lawyer Diane worked in TV production in the UK, and on qualification specialised in IP particularly in a media context. She worked in private practice in Sydney before moving to Lovells to join its TMT practice. From there she moved to the BBC and later to BBC Studios, where she heads up BBC Studios’ Content and Brand Protection team.

Mike Kerr, Managing Director, Asia, beIN Asia Pacific

As Managing Director, Mike works closely with the beIN Media Group global leadership team to realise its mission of redefining the sports and entertainment experience for fans in Asia and ANZ. Since joining beIN, Mike has strengthened and widened the coverage of beIN SPORTS brand through strategic partnerships with pay-TV platforms, telcos and smart device manufacturers; acquisitions of key sports properties including the Rugby World Cup, Premier League, LaLiga and UEFA Champions League.

Jaime Ho, Chief Editor, CNA Digital

Jaime was appointed Chief Editor, CNA Digital in March 2016, where he now oversees all of CNA’s digital and social content. He leads a team that covers Singapore, the region and the world for a growing audience, through groundbreaking story-telling techniques that combine the best in written and visual story-telling.

Michael Kearns, VP International Digital and Strategic Partnerships, CNBC International

Michael Kearns is CNBC International’s VP, International Digital and Strategic Partnerships. Kearns is responsible for devising and driving the network’s digital product and content offerings outside the United States, as well as to strengthen existing partnerships to enhance and grow the network’s reach. Kearns was previously Head of News and Programming in APAC, where he managed CNBC’s business day news and weekend programming while establishing editorial priorities with programme leaders.

Janine Stein, Editorial Director, ContentAsia

Janine Stein is Editorial Director for ContentAsia's information platforms, including annual conference, the ContentAsia Summit; and women’s events under the banner of ContentAsia Women. She has covered Asia’s media business since 1989 for, among others, The Hollywood Reporter (U.S.), South China Morning Post/Television & Entertainment Times (HK),Variety, Cable & Satellite Asia (FT Business), Television Business International (TBI, U.K.) and Electronic Media (U.S.). Prior to 1989, she covered the African TV/film industries.

Jeff Tan, VP of Sales, APAC, ContentWise

Jeff joined ContentWise with 20+ years of experience in managing and driving solutions throughout the APAC region for the broadcast, pay TV and OTT markets. He held several sales management positions with companies such as SeaChange, Verimatrix, Conax, Irdeto Access and Amino Communications where he was instrumental in penetrating into several key tier 1 operators in the region. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science from Queen Mary College, University of London.

Simon Robinson, MD, Discovery Asia Pacific and Chief Financial Officer, Discovery International

As Discovery’s Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Simon oversees the operations of all Discovery’s businesses in the region. Simon is also Group EVP Finance and CFO for Discovery’s international business. He plays a key role in shaping Discovery’s global strategy and priorities, while tapping into his deep understanding of the organisation and its capabilities for opportunities and innovative partnerships in Asia, especially in the digital space.

John Dykes is Asia’s most high-profile football presenter and analyst. The host of Fox Sports’ “The John Dykes Show”, which airs during primetime, three nights a week, John has been a firm favourite with Asian football fans for more than 20 years. Before joining Fox, he spent seven years in the UK, anchoring the Premier League’s worldwide content service. John’s TV career began at TVB in Hong Kong and included a 13-year stint with ESPN STAR Sports.

Datuk Kamal Khalid, Group Managing Director, Media Prima Berhad

Datuk Kamal Khalid, aged 47, a Malaysian, has been Group Managing Director of Media Prima Berhad since 2 August 2017. He has been with Media Prima since May 2009. Prior to that, he served as Head of the Communications Unit in the Prime Minister's Office for 6 years. He has also worked in the financial services sector in banking and private equity financing and at the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now Bursa Malaysia).

Tham Loke Kheng, CEO, Mediacorp

Tham Loke Kheng was appointed Mediacorp CEO and Board Director on 1 September 2017. An industry veteran with extensive media experience, Loke Kheng has spent her career steering the growth of pay television and broadband, as well as holding senior management and leadership roles in leading Asian operators in Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong. With her current appointment in Mediacorp, she comes full circle to the same organisation, where she started her career in 1988.

Anil Nihalani, Head of Digital Products & Technology, Mediacorp

Anil Nihalani is Head of Digital Products & Technology at Mediacorp. Prior to joining Mediacorp in 2014, Anil worked at Starhub, British Telecom (Singapore) and the then Telecom Authority of Singapore. James Miner is CEO at MinerLabs and Video Assure. Video Assure is a cloud-based video stream monitoring platform with instant insights and forecasting to help content companies better monetize streaming media. A digital pioneer, James led teams in Asia, and Silicon Valley holding leadership roles at About.com, ESPN STAR, Fox Sports Asia, Scient, and WPP. James is a Digital Committee EXCO member of SGTECH. His teams have won SITF Award Silver, and APICTA Awards Gold.

Gidon Freeman, Vice President, Government and Regulatory Affairs, NBCUniversal International

Gidon worked in business journalism and in public affairs and communications consultancy before joining NBCUniversal in 2010. He works on regulation and government affairs issues across the company’s various businesses internationally, with a particular focus on the European and Asia-Pacific regions. Subject matter expertise includes copyright/IP policy, broadcasting and media regulation, as well as trade and market access restrictions.

Stéphane Le Dreau , Senior Vice President, Regional General Manager APAC, NAGRA

Stéphane Le Dreau is the Senior Vice President, Regional General Manager APAC Nagra. He joined the company in 2009 as VP Product and Solutions in the marketing organization and has taken South Asia Sales responsibility in 2011. He has over 18 years of experience in the management of complex solutions in international environment, holding various senior sales and marketing positions at Nortel in Dallas (US), Hong Kong, Paris (France) and London (UK).

Pascal Métral, VP, Legal Affairs, NAGRA

Pascal Métral serves as Vice President of Legal Affairs for NAGRA/Kudelski Group, a world leader in digital security and cybersecurity. He joined NAGRA in 2003 as an external counsel specialized in IP and criminal law, stepping into the role of the in-house counsel in charge of anti-piracy, anti-cybercrime and corporate matters in 2009. Pascal also heads a global team of in-house and external lawyers and investigators within the NAGRA Anti-Piracy Services unit.

Anthony (“Tony”) Zameczkowski is Vice President, Business Development for Netflix Asia. Jonathan Olsberg, Executive Chair, Olsberg SPI

Jonathan has worked in the screen industries for 37 years as producer, distributor, sales agent and, since 1992, executive chair of the international consultancy Olsberg SPI. The firm is a leading adviser on public policy matters for governments as well as business issues for corporations. He is responsible for SPI’s work with international clients and travels frequently to established and emerging markets. In 2019 to date these have included Australia, New Zealand, USA, Russia, Abu Dhabi, Sweden, Italy, Russia, Kazakhstan and Costa Rica, among others.

Ranjeet Laungani, SVP, Asia Pacific, Nielsen Marketing Cloud, Nielsen

Ranjeet Laungani leads Nielsen’s digital and media businesses across Greater China and North Asia and is also responsible for the expansion, growth and commercial success of Nielsen’s Marketing Cloud and DMP solutions across the Asia Pacific region. Ranjeet has spent over 15 years with Nielsen across its buy and watch verticals. He has two undergraduate degrees and holds an MBA in Finance.

Janice Lee, Managing Director, PCCW Media Group

Janice Lee is Managing Director of PCCW Media Group since 2010. She is in charge of the company’s media and entertainment businesses including Hong Kong’s largest pay TV service Now TV, pan-regional OTT streaming video service Viu in South East Asia, Middle East and South Africa, and digital streaming music service MOOV.

Derek Choi, Head of Pay TV, PCCW Media Group

Mr. Derek Choi joined PCCW in 2003 and is currently the Head of Now TV. Derek has been working for Now TV for over 15 years and has held various key positions in Marketing, Commercial & Sales, in which he has a proven track record in leading Now TV towards successful business growth. Prior joining PCCW, Derek also held key marketing positions in several multinational banks in Hong Kong, where he gained his marketing experience in the banking and finance industry.

Mamie Leung, SVP Content Development, PCCW Media Group

Mamie has been leading Now TV’s content strategy and managing its wide range of content partnerships to support Now TV’s evolution and overall business growth over the past ten years. She also heads up Now TV’s sport production team and content development for “Now E” which is a new one-stop entertainment OTT platform launched in May 2018 for Millennials to enjoy their favourite content anytime, anywhere with no strings attached.

Unmish Parthasarathi, Founder, Picture Board Partners

Unmish's love affair with digital video started in 2000, when he was deputed from the London newsroom of Sports News Television (IMG's JV with the Associated Press) to create a wholesale service offering for "portals". Next came a startup, creating videos of Champions League matches and Robbie Williams concerts followed by the iPlayer at the BBC, ESPN Player in Singapore, KL and Hong Kong, Ballball in Indonesia, Vietnam & Japan, and, in-match video highlights for the ICC in 140+ countries.

David Ranter, Senior Manager, Pioneer Consulting Asia

David is a Senior Manager at Pioneer Consulting Asia (PCA) where he works with telcos and media companies to shape their digital product strategies across South East Asia. David also leads PCA’s research team which tracks consumer online viewing habits across 10 markets in Asia including India and China. He’s spent the last 12 years in the region, previously driving early revenue growth at the Asian Food Channel prior to its acquisition by Scripps Network. He holds an MBA from INSEAD.

Virat Patel, Managing Director, Pioneer Consulting Asia

Virat Patel is the Managing Director of Pioneer Consulting Asia, a management consultancy specialising in telecoms, media and digital in Asia. He is based in Singapore. He has extensive experience in business strategy, business planning, and market entry. He has developed pay TV, broadband and video strategies for platforms and content providers. His team has undertaken primary research on changing viewing habits in 10 markets in Asia. He is also an executive coach and mentor to executives in media and telecoms.

Esther Nguyen, Founder & CEO, POPS Worldwide

Esther founded POPS in 2007 and the company has since been instrumental in changing the entertainment industry in Vietnam, through educating the industry on copyright to building an ecosystem for which the industry could monetize and evolve. POPS has become an established entertainment brand creating new experiences for the fans through content, events, and our own OTT services. Esther has been named on the list of Forbes TOP 60 Women-Led Startups that are shaking up tech across the globe.

Goh Seow Eng is Managing Director, Home at Singtel. As MD of Home, Eng runs Singtel’s fiber broadband, video, power and fixed line businesses in Singapore. Matt Harty, SVP of Asia Pacific, TradeDesk

Matt Harty represents The Trade Desk as senior vice president of Asia Pacific. Harty has worked in online advertising in Asia since 1997, co-founding the first pan-Asian Ad Network, SpaceAsia Media, which was sold to CMGi in 2000. Clement Schwebig, Managing Director, WarnerMedia Entertainment Networks, Southeast Asia, Pacific and China

Clément Schwebig is WarnerMedia Entertainment Networks’ managing director for Southeast Asia, Pacific and China. Lee is responsible for the management and content strategy of the network’s general entertainment brands including Oh!K and WarnerTV. Her remit also includes co and original productions such as the upcoming Taiwan drama series “Haunted Heart”. Lee has pioneered several industry firsts including Oh!K being the first channel to broadcast Korean drama series with localization within 24-hours of their Korean telecast and simulcasting the annual MBC Awards with live English V.O.

Peter Szyszko, CEO and Founder, White Bullet Solutions

Peter is the CEO and founder of White Bullet, a technology company that detects and demonetises IP infringement. White Bullet uses AI to identify, continually monitor and dynamically score websites and apps engaged in IP infringing activity and tracks digital advertising funding them. White Bullet provides intelligence to digital intermediaries, including provision of transparency to the digital advertising ecosystem and solutions to avoid placing ads on high risk platforms.

Louise van Greunen, Director of the Building Respect for IP Division, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)

Ms. Louise van Greunen is the Director of the Building Respect for IP Division of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). She is responsible for policy dialogue in the WIPO Advisory Committee on Enforcement and for WIPO’s strategic and technical assistance in the field of IP enforcement. Prior to joining WIPO in 1996, Ms. Van Greunen was a public prosecutor in, and then the Registrar of Patents, Trademarks, Copyright and Designs of, South Africa. In that latest capacity, besides administering the IP Office of South Africa, she was also the Hearing Officer at the Tribunal of the Register of Trademarks, where she had the judicial competence of a single judge of the Supreme Court of South Africa.

Jean-Christophe Jubin joined Viaccess-Orca (Orange group) as VP Sales APAC in 2015. He is in charge of developing VO activities in the APAC region and is based in Singapore. Previously, he was EVP Sales and APAC for HTTV, a software solution provider for connected TV. Following the acquisition of STB software specialist SindiTV in 2011, he moved to Singapore. Prior to Zixi, Eunice worked at Akamai driving Akamai’s strategic broadcast and media efforts. At Akamai she excelled as an award-winning business partner focused on leading sales efforts in content distribution initiatives with strategic broadcast and distribution OTT, as well as aggregator clients. Eunice has deep negotiating experience developed supporting mutually beneficial complex agreements with client partners and MVPDs emerging to diverse platforms.

Alan Hodges

Alan is a Media and Entertainment professional with over 25 years of industry experience. He held MD level positions for past 15 years in Asia and most recently, he oversaw A+E Network’s Asia Pacific operations through 2018.

Divya Gopalan, Correspondent and Anchor

Divya has worked with the world’s top news stations for nearly 20 years and was involved in several major launches. As a correspondent and anchor for the groundbreaking Al Jazeera English channel she has been nominated for an Emmy, and recently was part of the award-winning team covering the Rohingya refugee crisis. She has worked in all aspects of news production at BBC World, CNN International, CNBC Asia and Europe.
